1. Each member is required to pay annual dues of $300.00 to the golf league. Half of this amount ($150.00) is due February 25,2024 and the remainder is due by June 9, 2024. Dues are to be paid to Rod. Dues for new members are $300.00, plus an additional nonrefundable $25.00 if they want to receive $500.00 for a hole-in-one. If Member dues are not paid in full by June 9, 2024 all winnings from event and skin money are put towards the Member’s dues. A one stroke penalty will also be charged and applied to both Championship rounds for every event after June 9, 2024 if dues are not paid.
2. Each member pays for his own green fees and cart. For the Father’s Day outing, member's room, golf and cart on Sunday only will be paid by the league.
3. Each outing will have a $15.00 event fee. If member cancels for an outing, event fee must still be paid. Also, if member cancels, a $3.00 three putt fee must also be paid. If the member does not pay for a missing event, any winnings from events and skins will go towards his missing event money.
4. Every member will maintain a 5-round handicap. Handicaps are determined using 80% over par. The Best 5 rounds out of the last 10 rounds are used. The highest handicap allowed is 32.
5. Rainouts will be determined by 6:00 PM the day before a scheduled tee time by a majority vote of the officers. Members will be notified via email or group text messaging. Check your inbox the day before or at the very latest, the morning of, before leaving for the course of the scheduled event when weather is questionable.
6. No touching ball in rough unless pre-determined before round because of bad weather. Ball may be rolled over in fairway only. It is a one stroke penalty if ball is touched in the rough.
You may roll the ball off a root or a large rock to prevent wrist injury or club damage. If ball is behind a tree, the ball must remain behind the tree after the roll. If you cannot identify your ball in the rough, Member must get another Member in your group to pick it up, identify it, and replace it exactly in same position.
7. No quitting - each team must finish with the same number of golfers as they started with, if not the team forfeits. The Members score for that day will be the lowest score out of the last 10 rounds he shot. An additional $3.00 ching fee on top of chings already accumulated plus Event Fee must also be paid by member that day for quitting.. If a member quits due to illness or injury, he does not get the low score of the day.
8. Out of Bounds Off the Tee -- member will hit a maximum of 2 tee shots. If his second shot goes out of bounds, member’s next shot will be hit from line of flight where ball entered OB. Member must declare the ball type and markings for the first ball and the provisional ball being hit. Member may place the ball for a good lie along the Line of Flight to where the ball entered OB. Member is now hitting 5. If not sure ball is out of bounds, hit a provisional ball. You must declare ball type. A ball hit out of bounds but not off the tee, can be placed where the ball entered OB with a one stroke penalty. You may also place the ball for a good lie whenever a penalty stroke is being taken no closer to the hole. (ex. Water, Hazard, Woods, Unplayable lie etc.) If ball is on cart path or any other situation where no penalty is involved, member must do a knee height drop.
9. Sand traps, water, 3 putts, and any Out of Bounds cost member 50 cents per occurrence. Two Out of Bounds or a 4-putt cost member one dollar. Ball must be on green to be charged for a putt. 3 putt money and Event Fee should be collected by a member from each group and turned over to Rod at the end of each event. If member pars a hole after entering a sand trap or water hazard no Cha Ching will be charged for that hole (Sand Save).
10. Father’s Day outing and Championship money will be determined by 3 putt money, event money and dues. If member does not make Father’s Day weekend, member will be refunded Sunday’s Golf fee only and not for your entitled room stay. The league Thanks You for your donation.
11. If a member gets the elusive hole-in-one anytime during league play, the member will receive all the money in the hole-in one pot up to $500.00. When $500.00 is reached a new pot will be started. Total is currently $ 1000.00 ( 2 Pots). If two or more hole in ones on same day, each member getting a hole-in one will split the $500.00 pot. (league play described in rule # 42)
12. 13 dates are scheduled to play 13 rounds. Everyone qualifies for the Championship. 10 rounds are required to prevent penalty. For every round under 10, 1 handicap stroke will be subtracted from member’s handicap for each round played in during Championship.
i. EXAMPLE: 9 rounds played during year and member has a 15 handicap:
a. Saturday’s handicap is 14 (1 stroke penalty)
b. Sunday’s handicap is 14 (1 stroke penalty)
13. Cancellations: If a member is not going to make an outing, member must contact Jeff by the Wednesday before that outing. If a member cancels any time after Wednesday, a $5.00 fine will be imposed upon member. A $15.00 event fee and $3.00 3-Putt fee must also be paid. A medical cancellation pays a $15.00 event fee and a $3.00 3-Putt fee must also be paid. A medical does not count as a miss towards the Championship round.
14. If member is a no show, the following penalties will apply: 1) Pay a $15.00 event fee and $3.00 3 putt fee. 2) Will be penalized 2 strokes for each day of the Championship. 3) A No Show will also result in a fee 50% of daily greens fees and cart.
15. Member must finish a hole completely. There are no gimmie putts. Failure to hole out will result in member being disqualified for that event. Also, the team is disqualified if playing a team event. Members score for that day will be the lowest score out of the last 10 rounds he shot.
16. Cheating will not be tolerated. Penalties will be imposed (hopefully not the death penalty). Be honest with scores. If you cannot remember your strokes, ask members in your group, chances are one of them will know.
17. Hitting Wrong Ball ----------- if member hits wrong ball, it will be a two-stroke penalty for every time wrong ball is hit. This does not include green ball.
18. Whiffing --------------- if member makes an attempt to hit the ball and misses the ball for whatever reason, it is to be counted as a stroke.
19. Alternates are not permitted to participate in events or skins. They may participate in closest to pin at a cost of $10.00 per round. They are not required to pay 3 putt money unless they are generous and choose to do so.
20. All members must ride in a cart.
21. Be at course 15 minutes before tee time. If member is late, his entire group must move to the end of the line. This is to help prevent changing groups around for those who are late.
22. If member is not sure of a rule, play a provisional ball on the hole that is in question. A decision will be made at the end of the round by the officers. Play two balls on the hole that is in question.
23. If member cancels after a Wednesday and no alternate can be found, member will be held responsible for any additional monies the league has to pay.
24. If a member quits during the course of the season, all dues paid will be refunded except for $25 Hole In One fee.
25. There must be at least 3 members in a group to play skins or green ball. If a group does not have at least 3 members, we will use the Group Adjustment procedure to make the groups.
26. Members must hit the green ball in the same rotation when playing green ball. If rotation is not followed the team will be disqualified. If green ball is not hit the team will be disqualified. Once on the green, you do not have to putt with the green ball. If only one group finishes with green ball they get first place money only.
27. All equipment used must conform to the U.S.G.A. rules. No game improving equipment is allowed during play except GPS devices.
28. The Pete Rule - Only 13 clubs and a putter (14 clubs total) are permitted during event play.
29. There will be a $2.00 charge to any member who loses a green ball in a green ball event.
30. Member who finishes last in the Championship must carry the Fore Golf League last place trophy in his golf bag without a head cover for every event the following year.
31. No hitting a practice ball onto the course during play. This is to eliminate any confusion about which ball was hit if the balls end up close to one another.
32. A member in the last group needs to volunteer to collect regular and handicap skins. A score keeper in last group needs to legibly record Greenies Hit on his scorecard.
33. If there should be a tie during any flight-oriented event during the year and including the Championship, the member with the lower handicap will win all ties. We will use the member’s handicap from the website with 2 decimal places for the tie breaker. The member with the higher handicap will get the next finishing position if available. Example: If there is a tie for first place, the lower handicap gets 1st place and the higher handicap gets 2nd place. If there is a tie for 4th place in a flight event the lower handicap gets 4th place and the higher handicap gets nothing.
34. Once a ball is on the green and you take your first putt, all remaining strokes taken are counted as a putt even if the first putt goes off the green and you have to chip back on.
35. We will be using the Handicap System for the Handicap Skins this year. You will get a stroke on a hole depending on your Handicap. No one will get two strokes on a Par 3.
36. If Member dues are not paid by Father’s Day, all winnings from event and skin money are put towards the Member’s dues. A one stroke penalty will also be charged per event if dues are not paid by Father’s Day.
37. Unplayable Lie - can be taken anywhere on the course except a water hazard. Your three options include going back to the point where you played your previous stroke, you can re-tee if going back to tee box, placing the ball within two club lengths no closer to the hole, or moving straight back anywhere along an extension of a line between the flagstick and where your ball originally came to rest. The penalty for doing this is one stroke and you may place the ball.
38. Senior Rule will be optional for any member 63 years old by the first outing of the year. They will get an adjusted handicap by subtracting 4 strokes off all their last years scores and using 80% of their best 5 out of 10 rounds to get their adjusted handicap for the start of the year. Members eligible for this year’s Senior rule are Jim, Ron, Mike S, Bill, Dan..
39. There will be no Ryder Cup Event this year. There is a possibility of a group internal Match Play Event using our accurate Handicaps.
40. If there is a rainout for a Championship Round, then the makeup round will be scheduled the following Sunday at a course closer to Home.
41. Injury - If a member cannot finish an event due to illness or injury, he will get a medical for the event and no score. Member will pay the event $15.00 event fee and any cha chings up to the injury. Any Greenies or Hole In Ones will be awarded if hit before injury. The remaining members of the group must continue with the event the best they can. If Green Ball, continue with same rotation minus the injured member. If Team Skins and group had 4 members, then use members total scores. If Team Skins and group had 3 members, then we have a problem. Group can only use the holes up until injury. Flight and Group flight stays the same. It is up to the group if they want to split any winnings with winnings with injured member.
42. League Play- Is described as an event where a portion of the collected Event Fee from the round is required to go to the League Kitty, or the score from the round played is used in the formula for your handicap. Ryder Cup Event and the Championship rounds are also considered League Play events that are eligible for the Hole in One Kitty. Rounds where all collected money is paid out or members score is not counted towards members handicap are not eligible for HIOP (Hole in One Pot).
43. Hole in One Payment – League new members must pay $25 to be in the Hole in One $500 kitty. If the member leaves the league due to non-injury that $25 is forfeited. Should the member return to the league later they must repay the $25.
44. Pace of Play- Do not waste time looking for lost balls. Three minutes looking is the maximum allowable time. Observe both the players in front of you and behind you as a measure of your speed of play. Keep up with the players in front of you.
45. Any rule not mentioned above can and will be determined by officers.
